Connecticut school shooting: Oklahomans use Twitter to express their sadness

The second worse school shooting in America took place on Dec. 14. Over 25 people, most of them children were killed when a gunman, Adam Lanza, entered an elementary school in Newtown, CT and began shooting people. Oklahomans, as well as people around the world took to Twitter to express their emotions and condolences.

“My heart is so heavy now right now,” Blake Shelton tweeted. “It can't shake it off.”

“I'm praying for those babies and all the victims of the Connecticut [school] shooting,” Miranda Lambert tweeted. “May God bring peace to the families.”

At least 20 children were slaughtered in the Connecticut school shooting. At the time of publication, it was believed most of the children were in a kindergarten class where Adam Lanzo's mother, who was also murdered, taught.

“Prayers to the victims and families and please...Let's grow beyond these senseless acts – we're better than this,” Ron Howard tweeted.

“My heart hurts. I don't understand,” Reba McEntire tweeted. “Why does this happen? Praying for the state of [Connecticut], it's people, it's families and it's children.”

It was reported that Adam Lanzo had developmental disabilities. The exact nature of the developmental disabilities is unknown. Adam Lanzo's brother and father are speaking with the authorities, as the truth is being sought.

“People are crazy when they go into an elementary school and start shooting innocent kids,” Blake Shelton tweeted. “I can't even comprehend it.”

As additional information is made available in the coming days and weeks regarding the Connecticut school shooting, more and more people will turn to Twitter and other social media sites to express themselves and share information. Celebrities as well as the person next door will be searching for answers and peace.
