If you've got the winter blues, grab the kids and head for The Coco Key Water Resort in Waterbury, where it's always 84 degrees. Here, there are plenty of water slides, tube rides, whirlpools and water cannons to please the whole family. There's even an area just for younger children.

Overnight packages at the adjoining Holiday Inn with access to the water park start at $149 on weekdays and $179 on weekends, but you can save money by purchasing day passes to the Coco Key Water Resort. There are a variety of affordable options:

Full day passes on weekends are $29 per person.

"Twilight passes"  for admission from 3 p.m. to close are $15 per person.

Wednesday admission from 3 p.m. to close is $10 per person.

Children eat free at the on site Parkside Grille, open every day until 10 p.m. Day guests should bring their own towels.
