Lake Compounce is proud to host the finalist performances of CT ICON, a six year old talent competition. The performances will be held in the Park’s ballroom on Saturday, August 30th and Sunday, August 31st. Supporters are invited to attend, and discount tickets are available through the CT ICON website (

Narrowed down from over 100 contestants, 12 finalists will go on to compete in a two day period of elimination rounds. All park goers are encouraged to come to the ballroom to enjoy the competition. Judging and scoring is based on vocal ability, stage presence, song choice, audience reaction, and voting. In the end, one lucky winner will receive $1000, recording studio time, and the honor of singing in various venues including the Southington Apple Harvest Festival. In addition, the second, third and fourth place runner-ups will receive prizes.

"We moved the finalist competitions from the Apple Harvest Festival to Lake Compounce this year to gain more exposure for our contestants and pump up the excitement even more for this statewide competition," says Melissa Ericksen, CT ICON Organizer. "We know this will be a great event for the talented singers, their supporters and the park guests as well."

"After speaking with the organizers of CT ICON, we agreed that the park would be a great venue for the finals, and that our park guests would enjoy watching the competition too," says Sara Frias, Marketing Director for the Park.
