When there's Fourth of July celebrations, there's sure to be fireworks. Towns and businesses across the state are having their own firework displays and festivities to celebrate the country's independence.

  • Bluefish Fireworks Extravaganza - The Bluefish baseball team will shoot off fireworks in Bridgeport after their games on June 28, July 19, August 9, August 23, August 30, and September 13th. Games start at 6:05pm at Harbor Yard located at 500 Main Street.
  • Danbury - July 3rd marks the day for the Danbury fireworks, rain date July 5th. Stop by the Danbury mall at 7 Backus Avenue. The entertainment starts with free concerts and family activities at 6pm.
  • Fairfield - Fairfield will host their annual fireworks on July 4th at 9:15pm. The show will be from Jennings Beach and Penfield Beach. Parking is free at the beaches but is expected to fill fast. If there is rain call (203) 256-3144 for updates.
  • Hamden Volunteer Firefighters Fireworks - Stop by the Hamden Town Center Park on June 27th for a concert at 7:30pm and fireworks to follow at 9pm.
  • Madison - Stop by West Wharf Beach on July 4th at 9:30pm for fireworks. The best viewing points are from West Wharf Beach, East Wharf Beach, and Surf Club Park. The rain date will be July 6th at the same time.
  • Mohegan Sun BBQFest Fireworks - On June 20-22, 2014 Mohegan will host their BBQFest at the Winter Parking Lot. The weekend events will feature yummy food from the grill, live entertainment, and end the night with fireworks, Fireworks will be at 9:15pm on June 21st.
  • Mohegan Sun Hot Summer Rooftop Fireworks- Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT once again will have their weekly firework displays this July. Every Wednesday for the month of July they will host Fireworks Extravaganza on the rooftop of the Riverview garage. Festivities start at 5pm with carnival type foods, family friendly games, and food samples from Mohegan's restaurants. Adults 21 and over can enjoy drinks from the Tiki Bar.
  • New Haven - On July 4th the city will have their fireworks at Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park at Long Wharf. Come enjoy the food vendors starting at 5pm. The rain date is 7/5/14.
  • Newington - Newington's full day extravaganza is on July 19th. From 9am to 10pm enjoy family friendly activities, games, food, rides, and entertainment. Admission and parking is free. The firework will be at Mill Pond Park.
  • Norwalk - Come to Calf Pasture Beach on July 3rd. At dusk the fireworks will light the sky. The rain date is July 5th. A free concert will be open to the public.
  • Quassy Amusement Park (Middlebury) - The amusement park located in Middlebury, CT will shoot off fireworks over Lake Quassapaug on July 4th. Special 3-D viewing glasses will cost $1. Admission is free. Parking is $7. Admission to the park rides and attractions are an additional fee.
  • Ridgefield - On June 28th the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department will be closing their carnival. The carnival runs from June 25-28 at East Ridge Middle School from 6-10pm, and 5-10pm on Saturday. Fireworks will be displayed Friday June 27th at the carnival at 9:30pm.
  • Rowayton - On July 4th fireworks will be displayed at Bayley Beach in Rowayton, CT. The 30 minute fireworks starts at 9:15pm. For the best view stop by the beach, or the mouth of Five Mile River to Rocky Point. Come early to park in the parking lot at the beach. Parking will be $20 for cars without a Bayley Beach parking sticker.
  • Putnam - The town celebration will be on July 6th. Entertainment will start at 5pm and fireworks at dusk. The location is Rotary Park.
  • Stratford - Stratford will do their fireworks on July 3rd at Short Beach Park. A concert will be at 7pm, fireworks at 9:30pm. The rain date is July 5th. A bounce house will be available for kids. There will also be a concession stand and bathrooms. Parking is at Short Beach Park and a parking lot near the Stratford Army Engine Plant.
  • Vernon - The town fireworks will be displayed on July 1st. Best viewing seat is from Henry Park and downtown Rockville.
  • Wallingford - Fireworks will light the sky on 7/5/14 starting at 9:15pm. The best seat in town is at Sheehan High School but they can be seen around the town, especially from high ground behind Stop and Shop.
  • Waterbury - Come early to Municipal Stadium in Waterbury on 7/6/14 for their annual fireworks. The show starts at 9:00pm but gates open at 6pm. Admission is free. The stadium is located at 1200 Watertown Avenue. Frankies will be serving hot dogs.
  • Westport - Compo Beach in Westport will be the location for their fireworks this year on July 3rd. There is a parking fee for a parking ticket, available before the show online.
  • West Haven - Stop by Bradley Point Park on July 3rd for West Haven's annual fireworks. The show starts at 9pm, rain date is July 5th. Come early to enjoy local vendors.
