Social media is a great way to connect with old friends. Although there are many choices of websites, they all relatively do the same thing. Just about every website out there like www.facebook.com or www.twitter.com allows a user to connect with people they may know. With that being said, connecting with old high school or college friends is possible. It may take some additional research, but it is still possible. Every social media website contains a built in messaging system, similar to an email.

The messages will always show up in the inbox until they are read. Usually a notification goes along with it to indicate to the user a message has been received. Some websites like www.twitter.com are strictly for connecting. The website contains a "wall" of peoples "tweets" for the user to read, favorite, retweet (which is reposting what that user posted and crediting them), and replying. Twitter allows you to reply in many different ways to help users connect easily. Facebook, on the other hand, has geared more toward to a one stop shop and connecting is more straight forward. Facebook allows more than just messaging, a user can play games from 'Pacman' to 'Farmville.' Nonetheless, both websites among with many others all do one thing, and that is connect with people from all over the world.
