It turns out Vermont doesn't have the monopoly on maple syrup. Nestled between Hartford and Torrington, Lamothe's Sugar House in Burlington taps more than 4,500 maples each winter. This means plenty of pure maple syrup to go around.

This weekend and next weekend Lamothe's is giving tours and explanations of how syrup is made. Visitors receive complimentary maple coffee and hot cider, and kids get free lollipops.

Stop by their farm and country gift shop for maple candy, native honey , preserves, and granulated maple sugar.

Don't forget to bring this coupon for a free tin of candies with a $30 purchase. Good through March 2010.
