Congressman Michael Grimm threatened to throw a reporter off a balcony, according to a Jan. 29 E! News report. Republican congressman Grimm made his threat following President Obama’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night, telling NY1's Michael Scotto he would throw him off a “f--king balcony.”

According to CBS News, the congressman was enraged by Scotto’s questions surrounding his campaign finances. After answering questions about President Obama’s address, which Grimm called “divisive,” Scotto dared to say, while still standing on the balcony of the U.S. Capitol building, “And just finally before we let you go, since we have you here: We haven't had a chance to kind of talk about some of the...”

Interrupting Scotto, Congressman Grimm noted, “I'm not speaking about anything that's off-topic. This is only about the president's speech tonight. Thank you.” As the Congressman walked off, Scotto observed, “So Congressman Michael Grimm does not want to talk about some of the allegations concerning his campaign finances. We wanted to get him on camera on that but he, as you saw, refused to talk about that. Back to you.”

With his mike off, but still on camera, Grimm threatened, “Let me be clear to you, you ever do that to me again I'll throw you off this f-----g balcony.” After an exchange with Scotto, the congressman added, “No, no, you're not man enough, you're not man enough. I'll break you in half. Like a boy.”

Congressman Grimm has since apologized for his threats, CBS reports. “I was wrong. I shouldn't have allowed my emotions to get the better of me and lose my cool. I have apologized to Michael Scotto, which he graciously accepted, and will be scheduling a lunch soon.”
