Yesterday, Rep. Kerry Bentovolio announced his office will host a Military and Veterans Summit. The congressman will host the Summit Saturday, July 26 from 9:30 am to 11:30. Veterans and active duty personnel and their families will have a great opportunity to get accurate answers to questions about healthcare, benefit claims, education, job training, and related questions.

Illegal immigration crisis and solution
Congressman Kerry Bentivolio announced some of the results of his fact-finding mission to Central America. The Congressman represents Michigan’s 11th District. Constituents from Waterford to Livonia and from Milford to Troy have flooded Mr. Bentivolio’s office with questions about the current border crisis in Texas.

Besieged by concerned citizens, Mr. Bentivolio hopped on a plane and flew to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. Michigan’s 11th District is the only district in the United States to send to Washington a veteran of both the Vietnam and Iraq wars.

Is this a flood of refugees?
So, did it look to Mr. Bentivolio like the illegal immigrants would qualify as refugees from war zones in Central America? It was interesting when the congressman told WND.com about the flood of illegal immigrants, “I really wouldn’t call them refugees. Our kids are facing similar problems. We have kids here with the same problems, kids not getting an education and with few job prospects. We have to put our own house in order first.”

On the trip with Congressman Bentivolio was a dentist of 25 years, Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz, who found the children to be well-nourished and without cavities. Many American children are not as well off as those Central American children examined by Congressman Gosar.

Border Crisis Forum
Congressman Bentivolio developed a compassionate plan to deal with the immigration crisis. His plan addresses border security, a secure environment for America's own children, and economic security for American families. He has planned a Border Crisis Forum for Thursday July 31, 2014 at the Livonia City Hall, 33000 Civic Center Dr. in Livonia, 48154. Those interested in attending the forum can RSVP at Shelby.Emmett@mail.house.gov by Tuesday July 29 at 5pm.

Citizens of the 11th District can express their concerns, get help resolving problems, and get information from federal agencies in the Mobile Constituent Service Center. The mobile center will be in Auburn Hills from July 28 to July 31 from 9am to 5 pm at the DEN.
