Back in 2009, a Republican congressman from South Carolina named Joe Wilson called President Barack Obama a liar in the middle of the president's speech to a joint session of Congress. Obama had just finished calling Republicans liars for suggesting that Obamacare would cover illegal aliens. Wilson, clearly, disagreed.
Democrat politicians and RINOs like John McCain immediately denounced Wilson and demanded that he apologize. Failed former president Jimmy Carter accused Wilson of being a racist, as did NYT columnist Maureen Dowd and former comedian Bill Cosby.
Five years later, we learn that Wilson was correct.
Brian Hayes writes:
The Covered California website [a state Obamacare exchange] includes a special page entitled: “No temas si eres indocumentado/a y quieres inscribir a tu familia en un seguro médico” (“Fear not if you are undocumented and want to enroll your family in health insurance”). The website goes on to explain that information shared with Obamacare cannot be shared with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It does not explicitly warn that illegal aliens are ineligible.
So. Obama has been proven (once again) to be a shameless liar. But don't expect the establishment media to report this, and don't expect Obama supporters to offer any sort of apology to Congressman Wilson.
But if you want to send the congressman a few dollars in appreciation for having the guts to speak truth to power, his campaign website can be found here.
