Congressional budget committee stonewalls the Pentagon and the President

As important, the GOP controlled House is obstructing action that is crucial to the well-being of Americans by squandering resources in defense. The Pentagon leadership have their heads on straight when it comes to addressing the need to reduce unnecessary spending, but the GOP-led House is motivated otherwise by corrupted influence from the military industrial complex and self-interest that likely include conflicts of interest. The latter charge is difficult to prove until the water is over the dam. According to The Hill report:

“The Pentagon planned to retire a Navy aircraft carrier and the Air Force's A-10 fleet, transfer the National Guard's Apache attack helicopters to active duty, reduce troop pay raises and benefits and close excess bases. The committee's bill would block all of those proposals. “

It appears that American voters are going to permit the House of Representatives to stay just as it is post midterm election 2014. So, what you see is what you get, and that will endanger Social Security, Medicare, and other aspects of the safety net. Republicans are big on talk about reducing spending, yet here is the bold evidence that they are unwilling to do the right thing.
