Congress makes a budget deal

See also

Not long after being declared the most unproductive U.S. legislature of all time, Congress has agreed on a budget deal. Yes, folks. Our Congress. To avoid a budget shutdown, Congress agreed to split the difference and cap spending across the bar at $1.012 trillion dollars. Even Paul Ryan is on board, and he's acting like it was completely his idea. The proposed budget is supposed to last for two years (2014 & 2015).

Word around the campfire is that the wives of several legislators threatened to leave them if they allowed the American people to suffer the way they did during the last shutdown.

Congratulations, Republicans. Compromise is the first step to taking your party back.
