With Hurricane Irene bearing down on much of the Northeast, dog fanciers are expecting rain and cancelled competitions in many areas. Here in the Utica/Rome upstate NY area, forecasts for Sunday call for heavy rain and high winds with chances of flooding. So, head west on the Thruway on Sunday, August 28, to the all breed conformation, obedience and rally fun match put on by Genesee Valley Kennel Club in Bullis Park in Macedon, NY. The forecast for Macedon is cloudy with some wind. With the big Wine Country circuit just about a month away, this is a great chance to fine tune your handling and proof your dog.
Entries will be taken from 8 to 10 am for most events, with Sweepstakes entries closing at 8:45 since judging there will start at 9 am. Sweepstakes is just offered for puppies with classes of 3 to 6 months, 6 to 9 months and 9 to 12 months.
Judging for obedience, rally and the regular breed classes will all start at 10:30 am. Regular conformation classes include 3 to 6 month, 6 to 9 months, 9 to 12 months and Open for all older dogs. Junior handling will be offered as well. In obedience, Beginner Novice, Novice, Beginner on Lead, Open and Utility will all be offered. For Rally, the classes are Novice, Advanced and Excellent.

Sue Pettit - Obedience Utility
Fees are $8 for the first entry and $6 for the second entry of the same dog. Juniors are free if is entered in some other class as well.

Take I-90 (NYS Thruway) to Exit 43
Turn Left on Rt. 21 (North)
Follow Rt. 21 to intersection at Rt. 31
Turn Left at Rt. 31 (West)
Take Rt. 31 to Canandaigua Road
Turn Right on Canandaigua Road (North)
Park is 1/2 mile on the left
NOTE: Bridge on Canandaigua Road (north of Bullis Park)
is still closed
