The London Hammersmith Apollo show is his first there in 35 years. He last appeared at the venue with Wings in September 1975. McCartney appeared there with the Beatles on Dec. 24th, 1964 for The Beatles Christmas Show.

The Liverpool 02 Academy show will be his first at the venue. His last appearance in Liverpool was in June 2008 at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium as part of the cities celebration for their year as European Capital of Culture.

“I always love playing to a home audience and for me it’s the perfect way to end the year. We’ve had great fun with the stadium shows this year and we’re looking forward to the more intimate vibe of these ones. Christmas is the perfect excuse for everyone to let their hair down and rock out. We are looking forward to celebrating with the good people of London and Liverpool,” he said in a statement.

and to think, when I saw Paul back in the early 90s, I only paid $45

That was 20 years ago - how much were you paying for gasoline and groceries? Do you grump about the price of everything? Better to leave the tickets to someone who is happier. Seeing him in a small venue for that price is a gift. Just seeing him still performing is a gift.

C'mon, metoo. It wasn't a grump. It was a "remember when" comment.

Ha ha, I remember seeing Wings at Madison Square Garden and the top tix were $10.50! All the NYC fans were po'd because they cost $1.00 more than the shows in other cities, LOL.
