Condoleezza Rice hit a spectator while she was golfing at the Pebble Beach Pro-am. Rice hit the spectator on the sixth hole during an errant shot. According to a report from Thursday night (Feb. 7), Rice hit a hybrid that "sent the ball into the left side of the gallery." It was far from the green and the result was a woman getting hit with the ball.
A report stated that the woman was hit in the forehead, sending her right to the ground. She began bleeding and had to be helped by her daughter applying pressure with towels. The good news is that the woman received treatment and was later walking in the gallery as Rice finished her round. She didn't even end up needing any stitches from the incident, but this is going to one story that she can tell relatives for years to come.
Rice was playing with partner Jason Bohn in the Pro-am and they finished with a pretty good 2-under 70 during this portion of the tournament. It had to fluster her a bit that she had hit one of the people there to see her play though. It was only recently that Condoleezza Rice became the first of two female members to ever become members at August National. Now she definitely has a memorable round to go with it, but not just because she hit a spectator.
