On Wednesday night, the UFC returns to Indianapolis for UFC Fight Night 27. This event will mark the second event that the UFC will hold on the new Fox Sports 1 network. After doing 1.3 million viewers in their initial event with Fox Sports 1, both Fox and the UFC are looking to draw a decent number in this Wednesday's upcoming event.
The main event features two top welterweights when Carlos Condit squares off with Martin Kampmann, which is a rematch from a match the two had in April of 2009. In the first match Kampmann won a very close split decision. Since the first match Condit went on a winning streak, which he won an interim Welterweight championship, while champion Georges St. Pierre was injured. After winning the interim title Condit faced champion St. Pierre and lost an unanimous decision.
Since their initial matchup Kampmann has not been as hot as Condit. Kampmann has gone 5-4 sine facing Condit in 2009, as is coming off a loss to number one contender Johnny Hendricks. With a win over Condit, Kampmann can put himself back in the top three of the welterweight division.
This main event should be exciting as both men are strikers looking to finish their opponents. The fights begin at 8pm eastern standard time and can be seen on Fox Sports 1. Check your local listings.
