Concorde Reisemobile unveils colossal Centurion 1200 motorhome (Photos)

German motorhome manufacturer Concorde Reisemobile GmbH today unveiled their stunning new Centurion 1200 motorhome in Hall 3, Stand B12 at the CMT Holiday Exhibition in Stuttgart. Based on the heavy-duty Mercedes-Benz Actros truck chassis the launch of the mega motorhome had been plugged solidly on the company’s Facebook page for the past three days. Although I don’t have a detailed specification sheet for the rig as yet I did manage to unearth a couple of pictures to whet your appetite.

Concorde’s aptly named “Centurion” rests on the triple-axle Mercedes-Benz Actros 2542 chassis and naturally includes full air suspension. Powered by a six-cylinder 12.8 litre engine that’s mated to a fully automatic 12-speed Mercedes PowerShift transmission the Centurion develops 310 kW/420 hp and 2100 Nm of torque.

Concorde -- originally established in 1981 as an RV components manufacturer -- began specialist trailer production in 1982 and motor home production in 1983. Their first motor homes were built on a variety of platforms including the European Ford Transit Van, Peugeot panel van, VW LT and Mitsubishi L300 and later on the Fiat Ducato, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Iveco Daily and MAN 8226 chassis. In 2008, the company launched the 890G with an integral Smart car garage and the company’s Concorde Liner Plus was one of ten RVs included in Examiner’s August, 2012 line-up of “The world's ten best car carrying motorhomes.”
