The show by Jones, recorded Feb. 16, 1986 at Music Village USA in Hendersonville, TN., features several of Jones' classics, including “No Show Jones,” “The Race Is On,” “Orange Blossom Special,” “If Drinkin' Don't Kill Me (Her Memory Will),” “He Stopped Loving Her Today” and “Who's Gonna Chop My Baby's Kindlin' (When I'm Gone).” The show will be available free through Sept. 10 only to Concert Vault members.
Jones, who died in April at age 81, recorded the rockabilly-influenced "White Lightnin'" early in his career, which was written by J.P. Richardson, also known as "The Big Bopper," who became well known for the rocker "Chantilly Lace." Richardson was killed along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens in a tragic air crash in 1959.
