On Thursday, January 24, the crowd at Amos' Southend in Charlotte, North Carolina, rocked out with super-group Eye Empire. The group was formed in 2009 by former members of Dark New Day and Submersed. The line up consists of Donald Carpenter (vocals), B.C. Kochmit (guitar), Corey Lowery (bass), and Ryan Bennett (drums).
Eye Empire released their debut album Moment of Impact in 2010. The album features well known artists, including vocals and drums from Sevendust members Lajon Witherspoon and Morgan Rose. Moment of Impact was re-released in June 2012 as an extended two-disc album, with the title simplified to Impact. Eye Empire is currently working on a new album, to be released later this year.
Rock bands Another Lost Year, Three Years Hollow and Screaming for Silence were also on the Thursday line up.
Another Lost Year did a great job representing local rock in the Carolinas. Originating from Charlotte, the band formed in 2011 and has already shared the stage with national acts such as 10 Years, Pop Evil and Almost Kings.
Three Years Hollow was founded in 2006 by members from Iowa and Illinois. They released their second album Remember in March, last year. The title track from the album was added to Siriux XM Octane radio station rotations this year. Three Years Hollow is currently touring with Eye Empire and then will join up with Sevendust and Lacuna Coil for another run of tour dates.
The first band that played, Screaming For Silence, hails from Omaha, Nebraska. The four piece hard rock group was founded in 2005 and has since performed with many national artists and as part of the 2008 Rock The Ink Festival in Rhode Island.
Eye Empire has numerous tour dates scheduled throughout the States all the way through mid-March. See All Tour Dates Here.
