Concert benefits and locals make beautiful music together!

Music offers the gift of giving.

The summertime benefit shows are hitting the Triangle. Enjoy the sounds of music note by note and give to a good cause. Win win! Where to begin? The Pour House Music Hall.

The Pour House Music Hall is located on South Blount Street in Raleigh and has plans on rocking locals this Sunday. How does two benefit shows sound, on the same day? Starting with Up The Irons (Maiden tribute), Bloody Sabbath (Sabbath tribute), Breakin the Law (Judas Priest tribute), and Jars of Flies (right down the Layne) at $5 a ticket. Benefits the founder of the first Iron Maiden fan club (medically related).

This iron clad early show opens at 12:30 and begins at 1 p.m. at the Pour House Music Hall. Second benefit of the day?

Community Music School Benefit Concert, another June 1st Pour House perk as doors open at 6:30 p.m., show at 7, $10 per ticket, and two bands on tap. One an Aerosmith tribute and another a Foo Fighters tribute band. Worth it already by music choice alone. The Pour House Music Hall is located at 224 S. Blount St. Raleigh, NC 27601.

Lauren Nicole Music plays for Willa Stein. The Willa Stein Benefit Concert begins at 1:30 p.m. on June 14th in Raleigh. Reverb Nation offers a slice of the "Burn Baby Burn" track. Click play. Find your way to 420 Dawson Street via Google map.

Art lovers can give back this summer. Here's how.

Locals can support the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation by visiting one of the many live shows and events presented by the Museum of Art. A 50th anniversary tribute band honoring the Beatles' first Ed Sullivan appearance, Dan Zanes and Friends, Judy Collins, etc, with more future posts to come, are just some of the creative acts offered by the Museum of Art.

Looking to spark that talent and support other artists? SPARKcon 2014 between September 11 - 14! A great way to pull the plug on summer of 2014.

Created by the non-profit Visual Art Exchange, and founded in 2006, SPARKcon offers art, film, fashion, circus, more, and yes, music. But not just any music. Your music. Share your string of music skills via musicSPARK's call for talent! Only two weeks left for entry.

Enter an application with the $10 fee. Entries active until June 15th at the strike of midnight. Share webpages and links to your music online or send to the Martin Street location in Raleigh (visit SPARKcon link below).
Good luck Ringo!

Cary BBQ Classic 2014 is scheduled for the first two days of August at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. Music on tap? Live rock, blues, a scale of bluegrass. This event benefits Spirit of Hope Children's Foundation.

Beer and Bourbon comes with 40 Bourbons, 60 Beers, with tent hopping ability. Hop responsibly friends.

Expect BBQ, contests, awards, exhibits and seminars. Nothing compares to the Triangle's Best Beer Belly contest. A battle of the bulge where size matters. That is before readers find the description of the music venue. Because bigger is better!

6 p.m. on August 1st the Will McBride Group takes center stage in this local music venue. As on Beer and Bourbon website, McBride Group is described as semi-jazz/rock/pop and is "funkier Steely Dan, jazzier John Mayer, a more-vocal Santana, or an edgier Stevie Wonder." Enough comparisons to attract all sides of North Carolina. Consider that the perfect pitch.

For the love of Pete, is that all? No.

There is Benefit for Bono with Sidewinder and All-Star Jam, Machine Gun and The Wannabees on June 29th at 5 p.m. (doors open at 4:30 p.m.). $10 advance, $15 at door. Lincoln Theatre keeps getting better! There are a slew of summer shows on the roster other than Benefit for Bono. Check it out!

And then, if a local wishes more charity options, try An out of site charity base with the basis of being charitable. Give a little and stay tuned for more releases. Musicians and local heartstrings plan to make beautiful music together all summer long.
