The news on the next Hobbit film cannot come any sooner. The film may be months away, but fans are eager to get their first taste of The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. Perhaps the most notable thing that many viewers are waiting for is the first trailer to the film. A few weeks ago, director Peter Jackson stated that the first trailer was coming shortly. So far, no preview has been featured online which has fans going mad with excitement. Fortunately, there is a new update on the status of the trailer. Unfortunately the news is not a release date on the teaser, but enstar does comment that the trailer is getting closer and closer to a release.

The first teaser for the movie is out of the editing room and has also been stamped with a rating by the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification). It has received a 12A rating by the board. The running time for the clip was also revealed, and it will clock in at 1 minute and 48 seconds.

From the report, we have now a run-time from the trailer and another confirmation that preview is ready to go. So that means the trailer has to be on its way, yet the question is when will moviegoers finally see the first trailer for The Battle of Five Armies. As of right now, there are two options of when we can see this upcoming preview. The first option is Comic-Con. The big time event will start this week and The Hobbit is suppose to be present at the Warner Bros panel. It would be a good time then any for the studio to release this anticipated teaser. The other option is the next release from Warner Bros and New Line Cinemas: Into the Storm. The upcoming disaster film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 8th and the movie stars Hobbit alumni: Richard Armitage. So seeing the trailer attach to Into the Storm would make as much sense as seeing it at the WB panel. Then again, the trailer could attach to both Comic-Con and the summer film.

So while the trailer is still far from viewers' reach, there is something else on the last chapter in The Hobbit trilogy. Thanks to Indiewire, a new image for the film has been released. The new pic features Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellan) fighting along side Bard the Bowman (Luke Evans). It is not much, but it is still great to see something on The Battle of Five Armies.

What do you think? Is this image is enough or do you want the trailer now? Express your thoughts in the comments below. The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies hits theaters on December 17th.
