The act of being arrogant is one to be considered worse among most human traits. Those who are arrogant, have this narcissistic tendency to believe that he or she is of top priority, and do not consider anyone before himself or herself. These individuals do not have compassion or sympathy for their fellow brother or sister. There is no love, forgiveness, or remorse. The haughty and the vain are those we should all pray for, and ask our Lord to have mercy on them all.

Proverbs 26:5 – “Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit”.

Those who are arrogant do not think about how their actions could affect those around them. These individuals cannot understand or comprehend the concept of empathy, walking in the shoes of another. This is something foreign to our selfish brothers and sisters.

Romans 1:22 – “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools”.

The most infuriating of it all occurs with individuals who think they know everything, and those around them are all inaccurate. Being wise is associated to having common sense that of course comes with age and real-life experience. The arrogant people around us will not possess such a thing. The smug will be quite vocal concerning their righteousness and wisdom, but in the end fall short.

Typically, the individual who is quiet and does not speak of wisdom will appear most wise. This notion abides by the premise that those who humble themselves will be exalted and those who exalt themselves will be humbled. Goodness will always prevail over the bad. Arrogance and self-righteousness is not the path you want to be on, unless you plan to be humbled more often than not.

Beloved, remember that as humans we will sin and occasionally make the wrong choices in life. This, however, should not discourage us from remaining consistent in virtue, faith, and most imperatively, prayer. It is always better to be humble and modest at all times. Allow only God to exalt you. Never exalt yourself.

Those who are arrogance and conceited will seek to torment you in many ways. Be aware of this and do not hold it against your brother or sister. Instead, pray for them. Ask our Lord to give you strength and to have mercy those who are arrogant.

Stay constant in prayer and repentance. This is NOT the time to lose faith.
