While Conan O'Brien is almost certainly sitting around somewhere thinking over his options, he can at least take solace in the fact that all of this drama is raising his ratings. According to initial data released by Entertainment Weekly, Conan improved his overnight ratings by over 40%; within the span of a week, he went from owning a 5% share of the market to 7%. While this may not seem like much at first glance, it is a big deal for advertisers looking to cash in however they can.

These increased numbers may also help in getting Conan a new show if he ultimately does bolt NBC. Fox has already expressed an interest, and would likely be the most viable option; ABC, however, believes that Conan is too similar to David Letterman for him to be successful at 11:35. Even with this surge in viewers, it is important to note that Letterman is still the ratings king of late night and has been ever since Jay Leno stepped down from "The Tonight Show."
