Tonight on "Conan", Ricky Gervais came on to promote his new Netflix series, "Derek", and the upcoming season of "An Idiot Abroad", but he also had a special surprise in store for O'Brien. Last time he was on, Ricky told Conan about his new penchant of tweeting pictures of himself making hideous faces. He has now taken the fun to the next level- taking the self-portraits in baths. Gervais made the suggestion they do a photo like that together. The next thing you know, two stagehands were wheeling out a bubble bath.
Conan was stunned. "Four people just fot fired here", he kidded. Still a bit in the dark, O'Brien was apprehensive to get his suit wet. Gervais made it clear that they were to strip down to their skivvies. They finally got in and after Ricky took a picture, the interview was continued briefly. Both commented how odd it would be for someone just tuning in at that moment.
O'Brien came back from the commercial break wearing a robe. Andy Richter commented, "If someone just tuned in now, they'd think, Wow, Conan is depressed." Deepak Chopra was the next guest. He brought out his new device called the Dream Weaver that covers the eyes and ears for meditation with pulsating lights and sounds. Conan tried them on. He noted, "I think this is the strangest show we've ever done...This is a freak show tonight." It was indeed one for the books.
