I have been dealing with a stubborn computer virus in the last week and my dilemma has been that while I want to protect my computer, anti-virus programs slow it down so much the computer becomes nonfunctional.
So of course, I had to invest in a new computer. I understand virus programs need to be extensive, but I wish they would make downgraded versions for older computers. They may not fully protect them, but what's the point if you can't use your computer anyhow?
Ultimately, it would be nice if we could squish "bug" makers. I don't know who gets off on making anti-virus companies rich, but they deserve a punch in the nose. The amount of time wasted with trojan downloaders, spyware and viruses costs billions and for someone who freelances like myself it can kill a week's pay.
