"Believe" has been the mantra for the Barnegat Bengal HS cheerleaders under the expert coaching of Shannon Shattuck-Smith. And Believe they did. From a small town along the Jersey Shore known for everything from Snookie's latest antics to the working class of a Springsteen song, a third force has come along putting the Jersey Shore on the map. That force is the Barnegat Bengal Varsity Cheerleaders who earned a place at cheerleading Nationals in Orlando, Florida where only the best and most talented athletes are invited to compete.
Barnegat HS is a brand new HS graduating only its 7th class this year, sits in a town of working class folks along the Eastern Shore and has taken cheerleading to a National level. A year of blood, sweat, tears and believing brought these amazing Jersey girls to the fairy tale magic of ESPN Disney's Wide World of Sports where the Barnegat Bengals brought home the Bronze winning 3rd place in the country on February 12th, 2012. Such outstanding victories are a reminder to us all to 'BELIEVE.'
