Company of Heroes 2 set for June 2013

The slight delay in the release of Company of Heroes 2 will come to an end on June 2013. Originally, Relic Entertainment announced that they would be releasing Company of Heroes 2 at the beginning of 2013.

The additional time will be spent on meeting the standards of the original 2006 PC release of Company of Heroes, which holds a Metacritic score of 93 out of 100.

Greg Wilson, Producer of Company of Heroes 2 states in a written press release:

"We hate to disappoint our fans with a later than expected date as we know they are eager to play but we feel that the additional time will help the team deliver the high quality sequel fans deserve. However, the wait won’t be long as players will soon be able to help us test and balance multiplayer in the upcoming Closed Beta. Details will follow shortly.”

Back in June, 2012 at E3, Company of Heroes 2 received a lot of praise from media outlets.

These awards include:

Best PC Game – G4 X-Play
Best PC Game – Machinima
Most Valuable Game – PC Gamer
Best Strategy Game – Gaming Excellence
Best Strategy Game – Neoseeker
Best Strategy Game – Comics & Gaming Monthly
Best Sound – Flesh Eating Zipper
