Community Service 2013

You should encourage your homeschool family to participate in community service . They can be small kids to teens but encourage them to help others. A possible project you might want to help fund is the Tools of the Trade: Pencil Sharpener right in Millers Creek. You can help support Mrs. Bryant's class project . Mrs. Bryant stated: "My students enjoy writing and being creative. However, writing and creativity can sometimes be stifled when supplies are not readily available. Having an electric pencil sharpener and a paper cutter in our classroom will allow me to have a plethora of materials ready at any given time for my students to use to create and to display their creative pieces of work. Having an electric pencil sharpener and a paper cutter in our classroom is a necessity and will be a wonderful convenience as the closest ones are two buildings away from our classroom.

With these new tools available in our classroom, my students will be able and ready to write during writer's workshop and/or whenever their hearts desire. My students will be excited about writing and want to write more and publish more of their work. "

So you can really help people right in Wilkesboro. You can teach your kids about community service and impact the lives of many students at Millers Creek Elementary.
