It amazes me how some people protect and support criminals who terrorize our communities because they are black. I am sick and tired seeing free this person and that person. These people you want free causes harm to the neighborhood you live in. What does your support and glorification of criminals say about you? When will the black community have the courage to stand up against crime?
When will those black people who like trying to sound or look important finally stand up and do something important like fight the black on black crime that has all of our lives at risk. And if you do not think so just think about someone you know that has been killed, raped, robbed, and violated because of the senseless violence of black on black crime in the black community. You do not have think to hard or look to far all of us have been affected.
The fight is not against the police or elected officials but the the real fight is against the criminals who live in our houses and neighborhoods. See it is easy to fight the powers that be but real character and courage is exemplified when we stand-up and take our community back from those who have no remorse about taking your life.
Any community activist or leader who uses every waking to moment to fuel hatred and distrust of the police does NOT have the best interest of Baltimore City resident at heart. If they did then the goal would be to unify and build stronger community and police relationship.
It is time for divisive community activism and leadership must end. That is not to say we should not stand on our principles and give voice to our community concerns but if we are going to impact positive change for those we claim to speak for we must sit down and work through our differences with those we elect to serve and those hired to protect us. Our fight should not be against the police but with the police against community terrorist who are killing those we love.
There is a small fraction in Baltimore that is calling for community control of police. Well how about community control of the criminals that they support. It is a sad indictment that can overlook the violence that plagues our city and claimed the lives 216 people but yet claimed they stand for the people. How can community leaders say they for the people and support the criminals who terrorize their lives everyday?
We must take our neighborhoods back from the community terrorist that occupy them. At least twice a year my facebook page is cover with RIP to someone who has died from senseless violence in my home town of East St Louis. Like in Baltimore until the community stands up against the people who terrorize our city we will continue burying our friends and family and posting memorials here and leaving balloons and Teddy Bears on the corners and curves they died on. Sadly some people love that drama.
How can say we love ourselves, children, grandchildren, nieces, parents, grandparents, nephews, cousins, spouses, friends, and whoever but want stand up against the crime that's claiming their lives.
The violence we see in Baltimore, East St Louis, and Chicago in the black community is our fault because we either glorify criminals, want stand up against crime or both.
What is certain these criminals can not kill us all if we stand together, but they will continue to kill us if do nothing. In 2013, black communities across this nation need to take pledge to stand up against black on black violence in our communities.
