The Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification has added a new email subscription service that will allow notification to the public if a sex offender listed on the Idaho Sex Offender Registry changes residences.
Members of the public wishing to be notified when any registrant moves inside of or out of a given radius surrounding a particular address in the state of Idaho, can simply register to be notified on the Idaho Sex Offender Registry website. The site will ask for the address of interest, the email address where the notifications are to be sent and the radius between 1, 3 or 5 miles from the street address desired for the notification. The link to subscribe to the service is located on the Idaho State Police website.
Users of the Idaho Sex Offender Registry are reminded the information is provided only for the purpose of protecting the public. It is not to be used for the purpose of harassing or intimidating anyone. A person who uses registry information to commit a criminal act against another person is subject to arrest and prosecution under sections 18-8326 or 18-8413, Idaho Code.
