A community in Cleveland was on the fence over a 25 cent beer promotion. Depending on who you talk to, some were for or against Backstage Bar's single serving, 10 ounce, 25 cent Happy Hour promotion held on Wednesday 4 -8 p.m.

Backstage Bar on 17007 Lorain Road held the pre-Thanksgiving Day Happy Hour beer special as a way of giving back to their loyal patrons. Action 19 News covered the story citing that some city residents were concerned the 25 cent beer promotion encouraged over indulgence. Those concerned residents were fearful those over indulged patrons would irresponsibly take to the roads. However others feel the beer promotion is equivalent to a 10 cent wings or a lady's night special.

Tony Gibson of Cleveland shared with me for this report, "Most people are smart enough to understand its a bushiness promotion intended to lure in customers. There are always people prone to over-eat/over-drink. Why should they(Backstage Bar) stop their promotions for a select few?"

Backstage Bar chose to proceed with the promotion despite the publicity. The bar's management stated patrons could only order one promotional beer at a time. Secondly, free cab rides were to be made available to those who needed it.
