Community alert issued on aggravated criminal sexual assault

The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) to inform female residents of the fact that on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in the 2400 block of W. 65th St. at approximately 6:30 a.m., an 18-year-old female was walking forwards Western Avenue when a unknown male offender, armed with a knife, approached her from behind and forced her into a alley. He then sexually assaulted the victim and fled the scene.

On Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10:20 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Campbell, a male black offender approached the victim, while armed with a knife. The offenders sexually assaulted her, as in the previous incident.

Incidents have been recorded in the vicinity of 6500 – 6800 South Western Ave. – California Avenue. The offender is described as a male, black, 30 – 40 years of age, 5 '11 "– 6 '2”in height, and between 180 – 190 lbs. in weight. The offender was further described as having black hair and a dark complexion, he was wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and black shoes.
