As parents we have many things to teach our children, being kind, helping people, and being responsible, all of this helps our children learn about being apart of the community. It's important to teach our children about the community they live in and their surroundings.

There are many ways you can be involved in your community, you can find a local organization, church, or foundation to work with and include your children. United Way in Portsmouth has a website that you can look at and see if their looking for donations or volunteers. If you don't have the time to volunteer, donations are another great way to support your community. Even bringing donations to an organizations with your children teaches them the importance of helping others.

If your someone that has time and your looking for a great project to be involved in that impacts the community, think about being on the Board of Directors for Community Childcare Center. Community Childcare Center of Portsmouth, NH has been providing service to the community for 42 years.
