People from all over the world put a lot of time and effort into dieting. However, there are many weight loss myths that can ruin a diet.

3,500 Calories = 1 Pound

Almost every dieter has heard this weight loss myth. Unfortunately, most do not know that it is untrue. While reducing your calorie intake by 3,500 may help you lose a pound initially, once your body weight drops, you carry less mass, begin to burn fewer calories and need to cut back more.

Snacking is Bad

It is normal to think that you have to reduce your food intake and stop snacking. However, this weight loss myth is also false. A healthy snack in between meals can help you eat less and resist the urge to binge or overeat at meal times.

Reduce Carbs to Lose Weight

You may think all carbohydrates are bad if you are trying to lose weight, and while some carbs should be avoided, this is a weight loss myth. Avoid processed carbs, as they are typically high in white flour and sugar. But enjoy carb rich foods such as whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables.
