The Scientific and Statistical Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC) plans two days of meetings. The committee will commence its get-together on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 and plans to finish on Thursday, July 24, 2014. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and end by 2 p.m. on Thursday. The event takes place at the Admiral Fell Inn, 888 Broadway, Baltimore, Md., 21231, (410) 522-7377. The meeting was officially announced in the Federal Register of Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

The agenda include a variety of topics. The council will discuss the 2015 acceptable biological catch (ABC) recommendation for bluefish. (The committee's role includes determining the bluefish ABC for the coming year.) It will also review the fishery performance reports and multi-year ABC specifications for summer flounder, scup and black sea bass. The committee also plans to review a policy white paper on forage fish management. It will also update its research plan development. Finally, it will talk about its black sea bass research track assessment.

The committee may discuss other matters but will not take formal action on anything not officially on the agenda. The exception would be if some emergency matter arises. If it does, the public will be notified in advance, in compliance with the provisions of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation & Management Act.

The meeting is open to the public. The facility is accessible to the handicapped. If anybody should need special accommodations, such as a sign language interpreter, MAFMC asks that you request it at least five days before the meeting from M. Jan Saunders at (302) 526-5251.
