Deitra Tate of WPMI-TV's weather department could have corrected her guest (a child currently on grade level four as part of her elementary school education) for the "Friday Forecaster" segment of her station's local morning news program ("Local 15 Today") last Friday, December 13th, if the Anne Frank the guest described as a "Nazi girl" (the guest was responding to a question about a book she read recently) was the Anne Frank who kept a diary of her life while hiding from members of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (they were also known as the Nazis) with relatives and friends in the same structure in the Netherlands for about two years before being captured by members of this group and sent to die in a concentration camp in Germany in 1945. If the guest was really referring to this Anne Frank, Deitra Tate could have corrected her by saying, "I believe you meant to say the book was about a girl who was captured by the Nazis" or something similar immediately after hearing her say "Nazi girl" since there were probably some folks listening to the news program who were not familiar with this Anne Frank. This would have been good for her station's reputation and the trust they may have with some folks in their local broadcast area.
