Commentary: WKRG-TV reporter uses vulgar language in local newscast segment

On Thursday, January 9th, the "City by City Report" segment of WKRG-TV's local morning news program "WKRG News 5 This Morning" had video of Allen Carter saying the cool weather in Mobile "sucks" before saying it may be keeping residents of Mobile safer based on his report about statistics about violent crime in Mobile since Friday, January 3rd.

I wish he had not used the word "sucks" to describe the recent cool weather in Mobile due to its history of vulgar connotations when used to describe something bad. He could have introduced his report without expressing personal feelings that were either his own feelings or the feelings of folks superior to him at the station or the company in which the station is a component (Media General).
