Wednesday: Nonprofit 826DC, which helps kids develop writing skills, is throwing the Baby, It's Cold Outside holiday benefit and cocktail party at The Gibson (2009 14th Street NW) on Wednesday. 8 p.m.-midnight. $60 in advance, $75 at the door.
Thursday: Shop the Off the Walls Art Sale at the Corcoran (500 17th Street NW) Thursday to buy art created by Corcoran College of Art and Design students.
Friday: Brightest Young Things is throwing The Greatest Holiday Party of All at the Kennedy Center (2700 F Street NW) Friday. Join in for an interactive tacky Christmas photo shoot, dancing, drinks, and more. Christmas outfits, including Santa costumes, are encourage. 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m. $5 in advance, $10 at the door.
Saturday: Hit the Upshur Street Handmade Art & Craft Fair (821 Upshur Street NW) Saturday for local artists selling crafts and art, live music, food and drink, and more. 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
SUNDAY: The Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike Arlington VA) hosts an all-day Christmas Movie Festival this Sunday. The line-up includes How The Grinch Stole Christmas (12 p.m.), A Charlie Brown Christmas (12:30 p.m.), Elf (1 p.m.), How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2:30 p.m.), A Christmas Story (3 p.m.), A Charlie Brown Christmas (4:30 p.m.), Scrooged (5:15 p.m.), and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (7:20 p.m.). You can stay the whole time, from 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., or leave and return as you like, without having to pay again. $8 for all the films.
