Next summer, Marvel Comics' team of mutants will return to the silver screen in X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, the question on some fans' minds is what will come after that film. Well it would seem that Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer has a answer. Twentieth Century Fox has plans for X-Men in 2016 and it deals with something that many X-Men fans have been waiting for. Coming in the summer of 2016 is X-Men: Apocalypse.
As many fans know, Apocalypse is one of THE villains in the X-Men franchise, and has yet to be seen in the film series. Well now we are going to have chance to see the character on the silver screen, and according to report, the filmmakers are looking to adapt one of the X-Men's popular stories. The speculation is that the movie will follow concept of Age of Apocalypse, a story that debut in 1995. The plot center around a timeline where Apocalypse rules the earth and the X-Men are led by Magneto. With the Days of Future Past dealing with time travel, fans are beginning to assume that the events of the film will cause the Age of Apocalypse.
Not only are moviegoers going to see Apocalypse and have the movie centering around the major X-Men story, but director Bryan Singer is already attached to direct the film; which seems to be icing on the cake.
For the time being, expect to see X-Men: Apocalypse in theaters on May 27, 2016.
