A previous article was already posted about the comic book conventions that fans can look forward to attending in the year ahead, but here is a list of conventions that will be put on specifically from Comic-Con International. Below you will see the official calendar of events for CCI
March 16-18: WonderCon
WonderCon is normally held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, but due to renovations that are scheduled during the time WonderCon happens, CCI decided to move the event to the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA instead of just cancelling the event all together. Be sure to start making your plans for the event now. Tickets are already on sale, and online hotel reservations can be made through the official site.
March 29: Comic-Con Hotel Reservations Opens
On this day, you will need to hurry to the official Comic-Con website to get your hotel reservations in. These official hotels of the Con offer the best discounts within walking distance of the convention center. The best part about the hotel reservations through Comic-Con is that some rooms come with a combination of 4 day passes (with and without Preview Night). The rooms go fast though, so be sure to book as soon as you get the chance. Be sure to follow on Twitter so you will be told the moment the reservation door opens!
July 12-15: Comic-Con International
With Preview night on the 11th, this 5 day event will take place in sunny San Diego. It's the biggest event of the year, and people plan their whole year around it. The best way to start planning is to head to the official website and make a personal member ID. Without one, you can't purchase tickets when they go on sale. When tickets and hotel reservations become available, you will be told on Twitter, so again, make sure to follow!
October13-14: APE
APE (Alternative Press Expo) is held at the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco, CA. This growing event that showcases the best artist with their best work. Last year was their biggest yet, with over 5,500 attendees. So lets make this year even more memorable for them.
So there is the calendar of events for Comic-Con International in 2012. These conventions get better and better every year, which is why they become even harder to get into. So be sure you plan ahead, and most importantly, have fun!
