Super Heroes, Fanboys, Comic Collectors, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and more all get set to invade San Diego's Convention center for 3 fun filled summer days in what is widely regarded as THE event of the year.
Look out for celebrity appearances such as Seth Green who has appeared on TV shows and in films such as Austin Powers with Mike Myers, Without a Paddle, The Italian Job, Party Monster, Family Guy, Knockaround Guys and more.
The insanely popular Cartoon Network's Adult Swim is offering fans a "Sweet Treat" for those who are willing to make the effort. The Adult Swim ice cream trucks will be cruising around San Diego, keeping fans cool by rewarding them with free Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Adult Swim show talent will be along for the ride to pass out ice cream, interact with fans, and sign autographs. Follow SDSweetTreats for live-tweets about locations. The trucks will be giving out 4000 ice cream Thurs, Fri, and Saturday from 1-9. You must follow them on Twitter to know when the celebrities will be on board.
Then, there is the "Tim and Eric Awesome-Con 2010", a FREE "Con" event offshoot that has developed its own loyal following. Actors Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim of the bizarre, yet funny, “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” on Cartoon Network are putting on Awesome-Con. The Ice Cream Truck will be at the picnic in the park hosted by Tim and Eric and other characters from the show with fan challenges (costume contest, karaoke contest, etc).
The Awesome-Con is a short pedi-cab ride from the convention center and takes place Saturday, July 24th, from 12:00-3:00pm at Embarcadero Marina Park North.
Insider Tips:
1.) Get tickets ASAP! This thing sells out waaaay in advance, and except for Sunday, already is. Look on Craigslist or Ebay.com but as they say, "Buyer Beware."
2.) Wear something cool! And not your Luke Skywalker pajamas, go all out, rock your Princess Leia prisoner outfit.
3.) Meet celebrities and get FREE Ben and Jerry's ice cream! Follow the Adult Swim Ice Cream Truck to see where they'll be giving out the free treats!
