The most famous comic book creator to have come from South Bend may be Gene Ha. Ha, who was born in Chicago, moved to South Bend with his family when he was young and began studying art in the South Bend public schools. He was the staff artist for Clay's high school newspaper, the Colonial. Today Ha is a freelancer who's worked on numerous DC Comics titles. He lives in Berwyn, a short El ride from downtown Chicago. Fans can preview his work on his Facebook fan page.
