Comfest is coming

Comfest, also known as the Community Festival is coming Friday, June 25th through Sunday, June 27th.  Since 1972, Comfest has taken place in Downtown Columbus.

This year the festivities will again take place at Goodale Park.  As usual, the festival will feature local food, art, entertainment and activism.  It is a celebration of like-minded people seeking change.

Comfest, organized and run by volunteers is known as the "Party with a Purpose".  Comfest's Purpose?  In Community We Trust . . . Educate, Advocate, OrganizeThe festival seeks to provide a platform for advocates of peace and social justice at the grassroots level.  ComFest prioritizes voter registration, education and mobilization.

In past years, Comfest volunteers chose one area of reform in which to focus the festival.  This year, as so many issues need attention, they opted not too choose one issue but to spread the message of individual empowerment.  Each person can choose the issue(s) they are most passionate about and educate themselves.  Everyone can advocate and have their voices heard.  By doing this, Comfest says, "You're planning ahead for the next harvest of ever more justice, peace and harmony and diversity. You're living every day the ComFest way."
