Comedic actor and former “Saturday Night Live” star Chris Kattan will appear at the 2014 L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival which runs in Downtown Los Angeles from May 15-18. According to a May 8 tweet from LACS Co-founder and Artistic Director Gary Anthony Williams (“Boston Legal, “Malcolm in the Middle”), Kattan will participate in the “Famous People Talking About S**t” panel on Saturday, May 17. His tweet read:

Kattan is known for his incredible (and hilarious) celebrity impersonations on SNL including Clay Aiken, Bill Gates, Ben Affleck, Al Pacino, Steve Irwin, Kid Rock, Alanis Morrissette, Robert Downey, Jr., Queen Elizabeth II and more. He also brought several unforgettable SNL characters to life including Mr. Peepers, Mango and one-half of “A Night at the Roxbury’s” infamous head-bobbing Butabi brothers alongside Will Ferrell.
Kattan joins Michaela Watkins (SNL, “Trophy Wife,” “Benched”), Melissa Peterman (“Reba, “Baby Daddy, “Fargo”), Jon Huertas (“Castle,” “Generation Kill”), Tara Strong, (“Family Guy,” “Powerpuff Girls,” “Rugrats,” and Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community”) on the "Famous People" panel. The dynamic group of celebs will enage the audience in a fun festival tradition by chatting on the LACS stage at the Downtown Independent Theater.
Now in its sixth year, the 2014 L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival has been named one of the Top Ten Festivals in the US by the Brooks institute. The laughter-fueled weekend kicks off with Celebrity Screening Night on Thursday, May 15, and Official Film Selections will be screened all weekend long. Opening night films feature iconic actors like James Franco, Doris Roberts, Fred Willard, Laraine Newman and more.
Industry panels begin Friday, May 16 with back-to-back Producers and Digital Panels, “Famous People Talking About S**t Panel" on Saturday, May 17 and Writing Panel on Sunday, May 18. Each day ends with a party at fabulous venues like Angel City Brewery and Doubletree Kyoto Rooftop Garden.
The jam-packed weekend will be capped off by an exciting Red Carpet Awards Gala at Exchange LA which is hosted by comedian Reggie Brown (“HBO Bill Maher,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”). Comedy legend Weird Al Yankovic will receive the COMMIE Award at this year’s Awards Gala. There will also be a special screening of his hit video “White and Nerdy.” Celebrity presenters, including Joe Nunez (“Bridesmaids”) will name the 2014 L.A. Comedy Shorts winners, including the Best of Fest Grand Prize. 2014 Movie Magic Screenwriter Screenplay Competition winners will be also be honored.
