Everyone needs a good laugh now and again. When times are tough and life gets you down, there's nothing like a good belly laugh to pick up the spirits! Wesley Hofmann is a Bay Area comedian who knows just how to get that job done.
Wesley attended Oak Grove High School in San Jose, CA from 1996-2000. Not only was he a Drama student all four years, but was the Drama Club President his Senior year and a member of the Musical Theater Class. Hofmann continued his acting training and got into stand-up while attending De Anza College in Cupertino, CA. His first stand-up set was televised on De Anza's Cable Channel. Hofmann went on to San Jose State where he appeared in numerous stage productions IE: John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men in which he played the lead character, George Milton (in February 2005). In the Fall of 2007, Hofmann graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theater Arts.
Wesley Hofmann's comedic influences include: Jim Carrey, Daniel Tosh, Bill Cosby, and Steve Martin. He has worked and studied with comedian Kurtis Matthews and The San Francisco Comedy College. Hofmann has performed at The San Jose Improv, Rooster T. Feathers, UC Santa Cruz campus, San Jose State campus, Stanford University, and more! He currently produces two monthly comedy shows in Gilroy and Morgan Hill.
Wesley Hofmann continues to audition for theater productions and perform stand-up. He states, "The two different art forms really help make each other stronger...I love the challenge of stand-up because it is only you...and there are expectations to make people laugh. With theater, you have a much bigger support group and a script that is written for you, but the adrenaline is still just as amazing!"
3 Random Questions: Interview between comedian Wesley Hofmann and Examiner.com writer- Stay At Home Mom Sacramento, Kimberly Benny
1.) Kimberly Benny- Question: What 3 items would you absolutely have to have with you, if you were stranded on a deserted island?
Wesley Hofmann- Answer: A mic, a stage, and an audience. (I figure if it is a deserted island, it would be surrounded by water I could drink, and the audience members that don't laugh would get eaten. Lol.)
2.) KB- Q: If you could spend the day with any celebrity or person from history, who would it be and what 1 question would you ask him/her?
WH- A: I'm going to say Babe Ruth and I would ask, "Can you teach me how to hit home-runs like you?"
3.) KB- Q: What is 1 thing you'd like people to know about you, that you don't think they already do?
WH- A: I'm a hopeless romantic.
