Last night on "The Daily Show", John Stewart announced that his "Rally to Restore Sanity" and Stephen Colbert's "March to Keep Fear Alive" will be televised live on Comedy Central and on Comedycentral.com.

"We are going to stream the rally on our website and broadcast it live on Comedy Central", Stewart announced to a cheering crowd.

According to www.rallytorestoresanity.com the rally is for, "the people who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive, and terrible for your throat;   who feel that the loudest voices shouldn’t be the only ones that get heard; and who believe that the only time it’s appropriate to draw a Hitler mustache on someone is when that person is actually Hitler. Or Charlie Chaplin in certain roles."

Stewart originally announced his rally several weeks ago in response to Glen Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally, which took place at the National Mall in August.  Watch Stewart's original announcement.

The "Rally to Restore Sanity" has gained popularity in the past month.  The rally's facebook.com event page shows 203095 attendees.  Colbert's rally's event page shows 86883 attendees.

The rallies are scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. on October 30.  The rallies begin at noon, at the National Mall.
