Upcoming events at a local playhouse include its annual holiday musical treat while the comedy, "Mama Won't Fly," is in its final weekend of fun at the Marathon Community Theatre. Mama Won’t Fly, set for Friday through Sunday Dec. 13, 14 and 15, finds Mama going cross country on a road trip chock full of crazy characters, zany get-ups, and colorful accents. Then, on the MCT stage is the local playhouse’s annual holiday show scheduled Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. featuring the MCT chorus, Island Harmony singers, MCT Bollywood dancers, students from Body Language Studio and a very special big fellow in a red suit. Auditions: January 4 and 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. MCT is casting five women for a reading of Love, Loss and What I Wore. This intimate collection of stories by superstar sisters Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally) and Delia Ephron (You’ve Got Mail, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) will be presented as a reading in the MCT Gallery on February 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. For casting details, please contact email@example.com.
The Gordon Ross Cabaret: Marathon Community Theatre will once again kick off the New Year with one of Key West’s finest vocalists. Gordon and Friends are back on the MCT stage, after a sold out show last season, with a great set for Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. Tickets for an evening of jazz, blues and show tunes are $24.
