According to the New York Times, comedian Tracy Morgan, 45, is in critical condition following a six-car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning. New Jersey State Police say Morgan was in a limo bus along with six other people at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday morning near Cranbury Township when an accident occurred on the northbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike between exits 7A and 8A. The turnpike at exit 7A was closed to traffic for more than five hours, but it reopened around 6 a.m.

Officials say Morgan is currently in intensive care at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. One passenger in the limo bus died, and three others were critically injured. The condition of passengers in the other five vehicles is unknown.

State Police say the accident involved two tractor trailers, Morgan's limo bus, an SUV and two passenger vehicles, and that preliminary results indicate one of the tractor trailers is to blame. Reportedly, one of the tractor trailers rear-ended Morgan’s bus, causing the comedian’s vehicle to roll over.

According to the New York Times, Morgan had performed at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Dover, Delaware on Friday night as part of a live and ongoing comedy tour. He is scheduled to perform next in Charlotte, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.

Morgan is an American actor and comedian who is best known for his eight seasons as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" and for his role as Tracy Jordan on the TV series "30 Rock" as a caricature of himself. His work on "30 Rock" has been well-received, being nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2009 Emmy Awards.
