Comedian Robert Schimmel had died from injuries suffered during a car accident. He was 60 years old. Schimmel was a frequent contributor to the Howard Stern Show.
According to The New York Times, Robert Schimmel was known for his "taboo-busting" and sexually oriented humor. Schimmel died Friday at a Phoenix hospital where he had been treated since August 26.
Schimmel was involved in a car accident in Arizona. Robert's 19 year old daughter was driving the car when she reportedly swerved to avoid a collision. The car rolled over on the freeway. Also in the car was Schimmel's 11 year old son. Both daughter and son are fine.
Robert Schimmel was a cancer survivor who penned the book, ""Caner on $5 a Day (chemo not included): How Humor Got Me Through The Toughest Journey of My Life."
