From August 8-10, 2014, come to the Portland Waterfront and savor Oregon's food offerings at the 31st Annual Bite of Oregon. This year's theme Celebrating Oregon's Bounty will be commemorated by an assortment of savory and sweet food offerings served up by a range restaurants, food carts, and dessert purveyors. Also, one will find over 20 flavors or Oregon craft beer and over 20 Oregon wineries, as well as offerings from distilleries.
In particular, check out their Oregon Bounty Chef's Table. They're partnering with five of the Oregon Agricultural Commissions who are joining forces with Pro Chef's Oregon, a non-profit chapter of the American Culinary Federation comprised of chefs, and students dedicated to the profession of food preparation. Together they will be preparing some bites featuring locally grown food including beef, seafood, fruits and vegetables. Also, two music stages will provide entertainment as participants drink, eat and relax along the Portland waterfront.
Purchase advance $5.00 tickets or a special package for The Bite of Oregon 2014 and it becomes an incentive filled "Bonus Bite". This Bonus Bite gives one entry to the event via the Express Line so one can beat the wait and get that FIRST BITE! Additional Bonus Bite benefits will be communicated to those during the event in real time via text messaging for Bite guests who "opt-in." Kids under 12 get in for free. Food prices vary from vendor to vendor in the range of $2 to $9 per item. The Bite is a cash only event with several ATMs located just inside the gates.
As an added incentive to eat for good, the Bite of Oregon is a fund raiser for Special Olympics Oregon. With 10,000 participants, Special Olympics Oregon offers 40 Olympic-type sports during their summer and winter state games.
The Bite of Oregon will be held on Friday August 8-9, 2014 from 11AM to 10PM and then on Sunday August 10, 2014 from 10AM to 8PM.
