Come to Bob's Big Boy in Toluca Lake

Bob'sBigBoy.jpg

Bob's Big Boy of Toluca Lake.

Although a franchise, the original Bob’s Big Boy of Burbank (or Toluca Lake) is a bit of a community center for groups of actors, industry professionals, and families in the local area. It’s Friday Night Car Show along with fundraising programs in associations with the John Burroughs High School marching band and as well as many other local charities render a community-driven diner.

Almost every night one must wait to be seated and the atmosphere is almost always merry. The food is, for all its charms and philanthropies, mediocre at best. This is diner food after all.  Do not get the Bob’s Big Boy Combo with fries for it is an exact replica of the Big Mac. For some reason the constantly convivial atmosphere of the restaurant elevates the quality of the food to an undeserving level. One can have the same set of burgers and fries at any diner on the way to Vegas.

Nevertheless, this particular Bob’s is ideal for sobering up, casual group get-togethers, and any dinner after the 10th date.

FYI: The Big Boy burger was invented in 1936 and the Big Mac didn’t come along until 1969 so BB didn't replicate the Big Mac. ;)
